I had a blast with kids on our first day of 4th grade.

it works great families and finally take that thing off for today I won't lie it wasn't fun having to deal with the mass today but it was so good to see your kids we had a blast today in 4th grade getting to know each other and I hope that we get to do that as the year progresses even more I might want to go over just a couple of things that came out those questions today from some of the kids the first one is they do have a little bit of homework tonight but you will not be required this first week to fill out any kind of form for that so their homework for today was to go over the Google Classroom login to on their computers and show you our lesson for the week just know that that will be on their weekly and Teresa and I plan to do that from here on out so it has like a Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday schedule and what we're doing everyday second part of their work is to have you sign in their notebook I'm in their agenda book and making sure you wear that is this will have to happen every day and eventually when we do have to fill out someone is signature for doing their work in the afternoon or the morning depending on which claster in this will just get us in the habit of getting that done so signature at the bottom for this week the other thing I wanted to talk to you about was lunch and breakfast and so Teresa and I are going to do a sign up that will come out for next week will send that home in Thursday pack of this week so next week you'll get two weeks sign up and you'll just have to determine whether or not you want your children to pay for a breakfast or a month each day from the 8th Thru the 11th and then from the 14th through the 18th something at home in your kid's Thursday folders this week as far as lunch and breakfast for this week we knew there see some challenges so if you could talk to your kids tonight about whether or not they will be taking a lunch or breakfast so for the morning group as they come and they will eat breakfast here in the classroom just know that you'll have to pay for those breakfast like you did last year so if you normally sent your kids to get breakfast they can gladly do that in the classroom and if you don't want them taking a breakfast and make sure they the am kids on the way out will take a lunch with them if you want them to have a hot lunch from the school just make sure they know that for the afternoon kids that means that they will be eating lunch on the way in in the classroom and then they'll on the way out take a breakfast home for the next morning so that's how that's working so when you sign up next week on the phone just make sure you sign up yes they want a breakfast or a lunch each day just had a blast today I asked him if there was anything they wanted me to go over with you and they said just tell him we had fun so it was great to be back in the room with them and we accomplished getting some things organized today their notebooks in that sort of stuff and we also logged on to Google Classroom so they know how to do that they wanted me to tell you during the week so we have PE and so that's these first two weeks we do not take an additional recess so they may need a little bit of Wiggle time once I get home when we have music and art Library during those weeks we will take an additional break outside and have a recess so they were a little bummed that they didn't get to start with a recess this first week but after doing breakfast or lunch that's about 15 minutes of our day another half hour for PE music art Library I'm only last with like 2 hours and 15 minutes of time to work with them academically so I really need to utilize all that time that I can starting next week there will be more academic homework going home so be prepared for that we'll start slow we're only going to start with English language arts next week and then the following week will do English and math and then the week after that we'll start face masks and either science or social studies we won't do both of those together my hope is that will be back face-to-face Again full day if we do go to remote learning at some point hopefully they'll know how get onto the computer system to be able to Aid in getting their work that way so that's why we're logging in early if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask I'm here I'll answer what I can and if I don't have the app then I'll try and find it for you so again thanks and it was so great to see your kids have a great day bye
